Hi Michael,

Great to hear from you. I like your idea of ISO 25010. That’s not something I’ve considered before.

My current thinking is that there are 5 major categories of crieria: value, domain, social, technical, UX (http://ntcoding.co.uk/org-design/heuristics).

In reality, it’s possible to start in any order. E.g. technical before domain and vice-versa. But when leading workshops, I think it’s good for attendees to start by focusing on value and domain.

Once the first round of modelling is complete, then moving onto technical (with C4 architecture modelling and so on), and sociotechnical (team structure, the Pink Check etc).

So an experienced practitioner is always thinking about all of these different degrees of freedom, but when running workshops I think it’s necessary to introduce them in stages: domain -> technical -> social -> UX. And each step you can refine the model based on this new perspective.

Always happy to discuss and learn new ideas. Thanks again.
